Q1:What is the recommended oil to maintain my benchtop?
A1:If your bench is oiled from the factory you can use any wooden oil, even linseed oil can be used and is very good for the environment as well.
Q2: I am wondering if I should also glue my Sjobergs workbench when I assemble it?
A2: In most cases, the answer is no, but if it is indicated in the assembly instructions, it should be done.
Q3:What can I use instead of tallow?
A3: Paraffin can be used, or even also a traditional cooking oil.
Q4: How can I find out when my bench was manufactured?
A4: Under the bench top there are some figures that tells you what year, what week the bench was manufactured and what model it is. For example 201733448, means that is was manufactured year 2020, week 17 and the model is 33448, a Nordic 1450.
Q5: My shop is not climate controlled. How much of an issue will this present on your product?
A5: It´s really a big issue since wood is a material that is very sensitive to moisture. We recommend that you follow our maintenance instructions that you can find under Maintainance & Upkeep regarding humidity levels and so on to give your bench a long life.
Q6: What is the worth of my old workbench?
A6: It´s very hard to tell, it really depends on how old the bench is, how used it is and on how big the demand for used benches is at the moment.
Q7: What does FSC® on your products mean?
A7: FSC is a non-profit organization that sets certain high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner.
